August 1997 - August 2003
I attended the University of Manchester, graduating top of my year with honours in 2003. I also undertook an intercalated degree during this time, researching gene therapy for back pain. I was awarded a Wolfson Foundation Scholarship for this, and gained a First Class BSc degree in Pathological Science.
ORTHOPAEDIC TRAINING
August 2008 - August 2014
I trained in the North West Deanery Orthopaedic training program and was awarded my Certificate of Completion of Training in July 2014. My training took place in hospitals throughout the region, including high volume arthroplasty centres such as Preston Royal Infirmary, Stepping Hill Hospital Stockport, North Manchester General and the world renowned Wrightington Hospital.
FELLOWSHIP
August 2013 - August 2014
My final year of training was undertaken at Wrightington Hospital which is an internationally recognised centre of excellence for Orthopaedic Surgery. It focussed primarily on Young Adult Hip and both Primary and Revision Hip Replacement surgery. I have been trained in both Hip Arthroscopy and Hip Replacement surgery.
CONSULTANT
August 2014 - Present
Following the completion of my fellowship, I was appointed a Consultant at Wrightington Hospital. We are a specialist Orthopaedic hospital where the modern day hip replacement was pioneered by Sir John Charnley. We have been consistently listed by Newsweek magazine as one of the World's Best Specialist Hospitals . My elective practice is dedicated purely to the hip, encompassing both hip preservation and replacement surgery. I also carry out trauma surgery at the Royal Albert Edward Infirmary in Wigan.
